SASSY!-
Hi, my name is Sassy. I'm a 3 year old pit bull mix. I've been in a kennel at my vet's office since October 1, 2011 because my owner is ill and can't take care of me any longer. He's the only daddy I've ever known, so I've been kind of sad. Don't get me wrong; the people here at the kennel are great, but it's not the same as a real home.

I am spayed, up to date on my vaccines, heartworm preventative and flea/tick protection - no yucky worms or bugs for this girl! I will do just about anything for a cookie, but sitting is my specialty, and I am super good at it.

I love people and am the kind of pooch who wants to be your furry shadow. I do have my silly moments and I am always up for playing some fetch, but my favorite thing to do is just "hang out." No offense to the kitties, but I'd prefer to live in a feline-free home. As far as other dogs, I am a discerning young lady, so a meet-and-greet would be in order before I decide to share my new mom or dad.

I really hope I find a home soon - I can't live in a kennel forever! I promise to be your best friend, and I'll even keep your feet warm on those cold winter nights...

If you want to find out more about how you can adopt me, please call Heather at 518-346-3467 or email talula879@hotmail.com.

HONEY WANTS A HOME! Meet Honey, 4.5 year old female Staffie, 55 lbs, spayed & microchipped & housebroken.
Honey knows sit, stay, down, paw, "go upstairs". She is up for exercise and playtime anytime but also loves to cuddle and snooze on the couch with you or alone.
Honey should be adopted for the experienced and appreciative owner as she has some fear of strangers. But once she meets & trusts you, she becomes attached.

Kids make her nervous, so it's best she is in a house with no children. Ok around other dogs, but gives off mixed messages, therefore, sometimes she is not read right by other dogs, should probably be the only pet, but will learn to adjust to another dog if needed.

QUINCY - Quincy is a nearly-2-year-old neutered male Plotthound that is FULL of energy. Quincy is house trained, knows basic commands, loves tons of human attention and trains easily. He is neutered and up to date with required immunizations, is a non-barker and rides well in the car. Quincy LOVES to swim, and will play fetch endlessly in the water or on dry land! Lives peacefully with a female dog, but recently developed a dislike of other male dogs. He is a bouncy, happy guy! Needs more exercise than his current owner can provide. A walk around the neighborhood isn't enough - he needs an active owner/family to tire him out or a large, large yard with plenty of room to run and play! Quincy is a great dog who is a ton of fun!

If you are interested in adopting him and giving him a permanent home, kindly contact the email below.

WILLY - 5 years old, will be up-to-date w/vaccines. He is very friendly and is so hungry for affection. His owner recently passed away, therefore he is all alone in the house and missing his companion. He is alone except when some kind neighbors come and let him outside to play and feed him.

The email of the neighbors who are taking care of Willy is: nanearl@aol.com If you have any questions, please contact these kind people.

TRIXIE - Approximately 5 year old shepherd/husky mix. I went and did a temperment test on her. She is a sweet dog who is definitly chunky and needs exercise. Because of her size and the current owner's health she hadn't been walked in quite some time until I walked her tonight. Even after such a long time without that structure she really wasn't a bad walker. There were several times during the walk the leash was loose and even when not she was pretty polite. She was unreactive to the 3 cats we passed on the walk. She knew several commands. Trixie was a great dog who tired quickly because of her extra chunk. Her owner relayed that she herself has arthritis and often has a hard time getting up in the morning. Trixie will actually brace herself and put herself under her owner to support her balance. She would probably make a fantastic therapy dog. She is a little anxious with strangers but warms up in minutes. She also relayed she had a history of possible abuse prior to adoption as seen by her fear of brooms. She has never responded aggressively but will cower and run out of the room when seeing a broom. She was wonderful with me and became attached quickly. She would really benefit from a foster or forever home that would exercise her and get off the extra weight so that health problems won't occur down the road. She should not be placed in a home with small children as she is reactive/fearful to sudden movements and is very frightened by children. She has no other issues and really has much better manners than her owner first relayed. Her owner was accepted to the senior living and will be moving May 13th so there is a case of urgency for a really sweet dog. I hope she finds the great home she deserves. :)

SARGEANT-This is Sargeant, he is seven years old neutered male. He has bitten my daughter when she went to take his collar. He has also showed signs of aggresssion toward strangers. I feel he could be an excellent pet for a home with no children and someone who has experience handling big dogs.

TUPPER-Husky-German Shepherd. approx 60lbs. Up to date with vaccines and neutered (all vet records available) .He has been a great dog for 99% of the time however he has shown some aggressiveness that we are no longer able to handle around our 15mth-old daughter. We have taken Tupper to obedience training & a dog behavioral specialist. We have come to the conclusion, as much as it deeply breaks our hearts, that Tupper is not suited to a family w/small children. Rather than dropping him off at a dog shelter or something worse we have been taking the time to try to place him in an environment that will be the healthiest for him and those around him.

Tupper is a very sweet cuddly dog and very smart. He is great around other dogs and cats and has never shown agression towards any other pets. He has never had any hip problems, or any other health problems except porcupine quills a couple times... He has shown agressiveness towards my husband and me mainly when he is startled awake. The agressiveness was always there a little bit but became much more previlent at about five years of age.
