Emerald Acres is the holding facility
for stray dogs found in the Town of Rotterdam & Princetown, New York.
Due to the severe lack of kennel space, we are only able to hold the stray
dogs here for a very short time. If you are the owner of a dog listed
here, or if you are interested in adopting one of these wonderful dogs,
please contact the kennel immediately.

PHONE: 518-355-1749 Monday - Friday 9:00-2:00 & 4:00-6:00 pm Saturday 9:00-3:00 pm Stray dogs need to be held for 6 days to allow time for their owners to claim them. If a dog is not claimed by it's owner they will then be available for adoption. The dog will be issued a license prior to adoption. We are looking for lifelong responsible homes for these wonderful dogs. If you rent, please contact your landlord for permission to house a dog prior to adoption. Wendy & Ron have changed the hours for adoptions and have changed the entire operation of the facility so please feel free to stop by and visit the "New Emerald Acres"! |

DIRECTIONS TO EMERALD ACRES: Take the Thruway to Exit 25A. Go through tollbooth and immediately bear right up the ramp for Rotterdam. At top of ramp, turn left and go to traffic light for intersection with Route 7. At light, turn left onto Route 7. Continue straight through one light, then turn left onto Burdeck Street at second light. Turn left at next light (Mariaville Road), by Stewarts convenience store. Go about one mile. Emerald Acres Pet Motel is on left soon after you go over an overpass. |

a week, but dog availability changes daily. Prior to visiting, always contact
the shelter and check to see if the dog you are interested in is still available.

STRAYS ARE NO LONGER BEING HOUSED AT EMERALD ACRES FROM THE
CITY OF SCHENECTADY, BUT ROTTERDAM & PRINCETOWN DOGS ARE
BEING HOUSED AT EMERALD ACRES.
DOGS FOUND FROM THE CITY OF SCHENECTADY
ARE BEING KENNELED AT THE ANIMAL PROTECTIVE FOUNDATION
ON MAPLE AVENUE IN SCOTIA.
THE SITE WILL BE UPDATED AS NECESSARY WHEN ROTTERDAM DOGS ARE
BROUGHT IN.
