Please mark your calendars for the Annual Meeting of St. James’ Church following the 10:00 am service on Sunday, February 6th! You are invited to a delicious potluck brunch in Tuttle Hall, followed by the meeting. This is the one time each year when we gather as a parish family to discuss our mission, elect new leaders, adopt a budget and transact other business for the coming year. Your presence and participation are vitally important! You will have choices in the election process, and significant decisions to make as we as a parish community seek to move forward into a positive and hopeful future.
The Nominating Committee has received the following names as candidates for open positions. Ongoing members include warden Kitty Lobban, and vestry members Jamie Beecher, Betsy Birchenough, Terry Graves, Charles Tall, and Debra Tatro. Nominations from the floor on the day of the meeting are possible. Voting will be by paper ballot.

On page 855 of our Prayer Book, the Catechism tells us that the ministry of lay persons is “to represent Christ and his Church; to bear witness to him wherever they may be; and according to the gifts given them, to carry on Christ’s work of reconciliation in the world: and to take their place in the life, worship, and governance of the Church.” Please take seriously your responsibility as an active member of St. James’! We value your ideas, opinioons, and suggestions, and we urge you to be with us for this Annual Meeting if at all possible.
Business aside, this is a wonderful opportunity to share a meal and spend time with one another. Please baring a dish to share if you wish, and join us on February 6th!
