Kings-Ransom Farm is operated by Ed and Carolyn King along with their sons Jan and Jeff.  The farm is home to 260 cows and 250 calves and heifers and promises only a portion of the total farm operations owned and leased by the Kings.  Just last year son Jeff started his own farm of 150 cows, known as Colebrook Dairy, by leasing the Don Wilbur farm near Greenwich.  At the same time son Jan started his own business of growing all the crops necessary to feed the animals on both farms.

Combined Farm Operations:

Number of employees:  8 full time and several part time
Milking Herd:  400 milking cows (250 at King-Ransom and 150 at Colebrook Dairy) 250 heifers/calves.
Milk Production:  1 million gallons of milk per year
Farmland:  Total of 1,180 acres of farmland (480 acres owned and 700 acres leased) 

Corn                540 acres
Alfalfa             450 acres
Woodland      110 acres
Wetlands         50 acres
