I knew from the moment I saw this pattern of the American Quarterhorse Stallion by Mary Duke Gulden, that it would work up beautifully in Butternut. It is a large carving, by my standards, being 11 inches long by 11½ tall and 4 inches thick. I fell in love with this figure, and took it everywhere with me, (shows and competitions) to work on it. I even gave him a name...."Arizona Ranger". He was so breathtaking when completely finished that I couldn't bear to part with him. He stands on my Entertainment Center overlooking the living room, and will always be there.
