Agnes Hybrid
Rugosa Shrub Rose grows to around 5 feet (crop 094), reputedly
hardy in zones 5 to 8, it has double flowers in yellow and ivory
shades that bloom in early summer (n/r), introduced in 1922,
Alba semi-plena
Old garden Shrub Rose to around 6 feet (crop 147), reputedly
hardy in zones 3 to 8, non-recurrent white semi-double flowers
that bloom in early summer only (n/r), introduced before 1500.
002) Albertine, Albertine climbing wichuranna rambler rose (crop 002) growing up to 25 feet wide on a trllis, hardy in zone 5 it has pink flowers that have a massive bloom in early summer only (n/r) introduced around 1921,
Alberic Barbier
Hybrid wichuranna Rambler or Climbing Rose growing up to 25 feet
wide on a trellis or can be trained into a tree (crop 190), hardy
in zone 5 though one author has suggested its hardy in zone 4,
extremely vigorous growth, shade tolerant, one author indicated
it has been known to flower with only one hour of sun per day, 3
inch semi-double to double with a mild apple fragrance that bloom
in early summer only (n/r), introduced around 1900,
Alchemist or
Alchymist Shrub rose (crop 169) to 6 feet though I have seen it
used as a climber to around 8 feet when stretched on a trellis,
recognized as hardy in zones 5 through 9 its done well for me
when protected against winter sun and wind, combining shades of
yellow and copper in a fully double flower it fades to a less
organized salmon color (check picture), non-recurrent so it
blooms in early summer only, its more disease resistant in a
drier climate showing black spot in a wet spring.
Alexander
Mackenzie Explorer Shrub Rose to 6 feet tall (crop 098),
reputedly hardy in zone 4 it has recurrent double red blooms in
summer, introduced around 1984.
Altissimo
Climbing Rose to 8 or 10 feet tall (crop 126), reputedly hardy in
zones 5 to 9 it has large single (5 petals) red velvety flowers
that bloom throughout summer (recurrent). They die back to the
ground in winter but after being pruned to the ground in spring
they easily regrow to 4 feet by bloom time in June. Introduced
around 1966.
Anais Segales
Old garden Shrub Rose (crop 182) to 4 feet tall and wide, is
classed as both a centifolia and a gallica, reputedly hardy in
zones 4 to 8 its double (check picture) pink strongly fragrant
flowers are produced profusely in early summer (n/r), introduced
around 1837.
The
Apothecary's Rose, Red Rose of Lancaster or Rosa gallica
'officinallis' (crop 004) is shown in this picture cascading over
a stone wall in Colonie, NY. Growing to several feet tall and
wide its reputedly hardy in zones 3 thru 8, red semi-double
fragrant flowers in early summer followed by hips in the fall,
shows some mildew later in the year when left unsprayed as we do,
introduced before 1500.

Rose growing to around 4 feet tall and wide (crop 005). If the
accumulation of names indicates how old a plant is this one must
be truly ancient. Reputedly hardy in zones 4 thru 10, it has
double pink fragrant flowers in flushes throughout summer
(recurrent). Introduced before 1600.
Basye's Purple
Hybrid Rugosa Rose to around 5 feet tall (crop 006), Reputedly
hardy to zone 4 it has red purple single (5 petals) flowers that
bloom throughout summer (recurrent), introduced around 1980 (more
info Druitt, 113).
Ballerina
Hybrid Musk to around 4 feet tall and wide (crop 007), Hardy in
zones 5 (when protected in winter from wind and sun) thru 8,
clusters of small pink single flowers throughout summer,
introduced by Pemberton around 1937.

Hybrid Gallica Old Garden Rose to 4 feet by 3 feet (crop 181),
reputedly hardy in zones 3 thru 10, purple double fragrant

Look up books that have pictures of these roses. If you look you will see they dont always agree on hardiness. But its good to read what they have said in order to have greater insight into what you choose. Most of these people experienced these roses in areas of the world other than yours.

Its just that they have a picture of the rose in question on the page indicated. These books were chosen either because they were already in my library, a picture was included that I'd had some difficulty finding, or because I try to pick as diverse books as possible not knowing what will be easily available to you where you are. Each book has a little blurb by me at the end that you might take as a short review.
